"Get Your Obama Check"; "My $12,000 Bailout"

A sign of the times: There are now Facebook ads for instructional materials that will supposedly teach you how to bilk the government out of money.

These are the ads I've seen thus far (I'm not linking to the sites because that would only contribute to the hits they get):
Get Your Obama Check
The government's giving back billions to the public to stimulate the economy. Find out how I got $12,000.

My $12,000 Bailout
I paid $2.99 and Obama gave me $12,000 in less than 30 days. Get yours today!

The pages the ads link to are obviously cookie-cutter websites set up as part of a shady scheme to separate fools from their money. Amusingly, despite the fact that the two ads I republished above link to different sites that claim to be run by different people, they use the exact same photo of a check allegedly procured from the United States Treasury. Even the name, which appears to be poorly photoshopped in on both images, is the same:

Stupid free-money scheme advertisement epic fail.

Please, people, remember: TANSTAFL (There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch)! Thus, if it sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly is. The best way to obtain money is to work.

Update:

Here's another version of the ad:
Your Government Bailout
The United States government is giving away billions to stimulate the economy. Buy a house, pay debt, start a business. Claim yours!

Just an example of the people in this country who think the world owes them something. The pursuit of happiness is in our own hands. Unfortunately it usually takes someones whose understood having nothing to appreciate the possibility of having everything.

All these idiots who think the government should pay off their debt really bother me. It's their own fault that they buy homes too large for them and own too many cars and require all the latest technology. LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS! A simple life is not a bad one. Thank you to whoever started this blog. I agree with you 100%

Well, this is the generation that voted Obama into office - the get something for nothing generation, that have drunk the government funded koolaid from the start.

It's going to take more than politics to sort this nation out - it's going to take another civil war. One that nobody wants, but ultimately is inevitable.

Civil war huh? My money is on the bottom 95% Yours?

Thank the right-wing nut cases for deregulation, no oversight, no law enforcement efforts toward these scam artists. Criminals create these rip-off web sites. Cops should be hunting them down and shutting them down, just like they claim to do with drug dealers. Greed is not okay. Deregulation is not okay. No laws is not okay. No government is not okay, less the criminals take over.

Hey, the police have better things to do than stop people from making a quick buck.

Maybe if people wernt so stupid and gullible these days noone would even make such sites, its like this, if some stranger on the street told you if you gave them $20 they would give you $40, would you believe them? NO! So dont blame other people for your stupidity. Maybe you don't belong on the internet if your not smart enough to spot a scam.
