Thursday food for thought.

Garrison Keillor's columns are often brilliant. Garrison Keillor's radio show is, without fail, a boring suckfest of indescribable proportions. Why is this?

Discuss.

How about a link to a brilliant column? I can't really comment other than to concur about the suckfest.

Mr. Keillor suavely slaughters sacred cows and serves them as "gourmet"hamburgers heavily infused with generous portions of b.s.He is a professional prevaricator and has made his living doling out his form of mental masturbation. Although he suffers from solipsism and various shades of bigotry (he called, in a rage,a friend of mine "that Jew bitch") this can easily be forgiven. He demonstrates true faith in an era of faithlessness. This is commendable.Listen to his broadcast with an open mind and appreciate the creative genius and his work ethic. His band director, Richard Dworsky,a man with flawless personal integrity, can play the ivory off the keys of any piano and improvise thin air into music.Sue Scott can make you laugh so hard you will pee your pants while you cry. Ask yourself why you would describe someone's hard work as a "suckfest".It lacks compassion.Keillor is a born drama queen who has turned his negative experiences into a productive endeavor. Can you appreciate this?

Uh, this is an opinions blog. We think a lot of people's hard work is crap.

Also, even though he does write a good column and some parts of his radio show are occasionally funny, he's frequently boring, pompous and self-involved. Why, for all love, does he sing so much?

Andrea,
You seem more upset by the suckfest comment than Keillor calling your friend a Jew Bitch.

k-actually all is good;therefore i accept all.to have compassion for those that lack compassion is key.observe the identity projected by a person filtered with the anger that blinds them.ask these questions to eliminate judgement, censure, and criticism.(finding a place of nuetral objectivity is essential.)how important is it? is it my problem? consider the source.is it worth sacrificing my piece of mind? is it worth sacrificing my peace of mind?my friend is not a bitch and her ethnicity is not an issue.evidently these labels held a charge for the individual in question.bad karma always bites the soul of the offending party and there is nothing i need to do or say to rectify a perceived offense.unfortunately, i have been thoroughly indoctrinated and have found forgiveness to be a secret weapon.i was also taught-"Never revenge yourselves,beloved.."and also "turn the other cheek.sued to take your shirt?give 'em your coat! forced to walk a mile? walk two!Give to everyone who asks you for something.Don't turn anyone awayb who wants to borrow something from you." An open, loving heart can draw down wisdom and compassion from pure undefined awareness so that one may intuitively know which way to go.when the right and wrong game winds down, planetary peace will ensue.

Probably not the best idea to broadcast your e-mail to the internet at large. Thread over.
